Generative Art with SVG and JavaScript

Using noise functions, random walks, and algorithmic geometry to create unique vector artwork in the browser.

SVG is the perfect medium for generative art on the web. Unlike canvas, every element is a DOM node — inspectable, animatable, and resolution-independent. You write code that produces geometry, and the browser renders crisp vectors at any zoom level.

Noise as a Foundation

Simplex noise gives you smooth, organic randomness — unlike Math.random() which is jagged and uniform. Feed 2D coordinates into a noise function and use the output to drive position, size, rotation, or color. Layer multiple octaves of noise at different frequencies for natural-looking complexity.
